The Crap They Don't Tell You About Postpartum Recovery

WARNING: This is not a glamorous post by any means. It's all about the real deal when it comes to recovering after delivering a baby vaginally. (#SorryNotSorry πŸ˜‚) It ain't pretty, but it certainly is real life.

It's been a while since my last blog post! I've been a little busy. On Christmas Eve, I got rushed to the hospital with some weird pain. Turns out- that weird pain was the beginning of labor.

When I got to the hospital, I tested positive for preeclampsia, so they induced me and almost a day later, I got to meet my precious Charlotte ("Charlee") Rae Schenker at a perfect 7 pounds, 11 ounces. She was the most beautiful thing I had ever laid eyes on. I was immediately in love.

Because of my complications, I ended up having to be hooked up to magnesium for 24 hours after having her and remained in the labor and delivery part of the hospital for almost my entire stay, rather than being put in recovery.

Because of that, there was a lot of things I didn't know about taking care of myself after delivering a baby into this world. I wish someone would have told me!

Because of this , I decided to make a Facebook Live for new moms to talk about all the things you'll need after a vaginal delivery, from not being able to sit without pain to hemorrhoid cream to that first post baby poop, I covered all the things!

Seriously.. I hope this helps someone else have a better recovery experience than I had. To catch the replay directly on Facebook, click here or click the photo below.

Wishing you a happy and healthy recovery! Please feel free to share this with whoever you think it will help!

xoxo, Caity πŸ’
