In this microwave society we live in, I feel like patience is a virtue that many people have less and less of. We expect things to be quick and perfect right off the bat. We often declare things as “broken” or “not working” if they aren’t going at lightning-speed pace.
This could not be truer for people who are in business for themselves. I believe now more than ever that technology and social media will accelerate your character to be shown faster than ever before. There are many “how-to’s” and handbooks on how to grow the fastest and get the most influence, but the common denominator that I see is that many of those tools are right, but they lack one thing.
That one thing is "relationship." Did you know that on average, we see up to 20,000 ads in a single day? 20,000!!!! That’s insane to me.
So business owners, I challenge you with this question: how are you standing out of the crowd of 20,000 every day to bring something fresh and something unique to other people out there? Are you just following the same formulas as everyone else or are you bringing them something that is uniquely you, with your uniqueness and talents?
I believe there is a reason we are all different. Dan and I recognized that the missing link was was standing out from the crowd and being a part of a social media training that challenged the norm of being a formula or a button and teaches the art of thoughtfulness and being unique from everyone else. We started with the training last year and since then, we have seen an enormous growth in our business and our team’s business.
We have decided to open that opportunity up to all of our business owner friends, not just the ones in It Works Global. I think the problem with home-based businesses today is that we are discovering a new way of communicating and while we are learning, we need to learn how to not just be part of the noise but to be someone worth looking up to. Let’s make home-based businesses and small business ownership the new normal.
